Electrolysis is the only FDA approved permanent method of hair removal.  We go into each individual hair follicle and using Thermolysis, Galvanic, or Blend we treat the follicle so that it no longer produces the germinative cells that cause hair to grow.  At Ruby Rose Electrolysis  we are a proud Apilus Center meaning that we use only the highest quality Apilus brand machines that are able to provide a much more comfortable experience than what has previously been offered in the Electrology world.  With these new machines using a 27.12Mhz frequency it is able to more effectively treat the hair follicle as it gives us a much wider bandwith of modalities.

Most people describe it as being more of a "pinchy" feeling, or as just being a little hot on the area, but this is definitely something that will vary greatly from person to person and can even change based on the day, for example if you are not properly hydrated or have had excessive caffeine that day, you may notice the treatment more than other days. 

It is always difficult to say without first doing a consult and a thorough examination of the skin and hair, but electrolysis is something that works for almost everyone.  

You should come in to my spa ready to make a new friend, and rid yourself of those pesky hairs.  As far as what to expect for your skin, everyone is different and has different skin so it is always hard to say exactly what to expect, but typically you will experience a little bit of redness at the treatment site that should go down within about a day, if it lasts longer than that, we need to know next time so that we can adjust your settings on the machine. You may also notice a little swelling at the treatment site and this is also completely normal, it will typically go down within a few hours after treatment. 

Yes, Electrolysis is a process that will require multiple treatments to eventually achieve a permanent result.  There are quite a few variables that affect how many treatments it will take including the amount of hair, the sensitivity of the skin, the thickness & density of the hair, and the natural life cycle of the hairs, just to name a few.

There are several conditions and or medications that will exclude someone from being able to receive electrolysis.

• Sunburn (on the treatment area)
• Melanoma
• Hemophilia
• Pacemaker
• Cochlear Implants
• Blood thinning medications
• Accutane (Use of this product must be discontinued for a minimum of 6 months)
• Antibiotics
• Blood thinning medications
